- Bachelor's degree in Social work (B.S.W. / B.A) - 3 year course.
- A. (hons) in Social Science with specialization in Rural Development
- A. (Honors) Humanities and Social Sciences
- Masters Degree course in Social work (M.S.W. / M.A) which is of 2 year duration.
Professionally, Social workers may be classified as three types-
- Macro-: Deal with Social work nationally and internationally, by making policies and sponsorships
- Mesco-: They handle social work with small organizations
- Micro-: They work with individuals and families.

- Recommend and make decisions about the best course of action for a particular person or family

- Help clients to adjust to changes and challenges in their lives, such as illness, divorce, or unemployment
- Respond to emergent situations, such as natural disasters
