Career Introduction -Â
Sound Engineering is the new way of learning music differently. It is solely about capturing sound, copying, recording, mixing, editing and reproducing sound using mechanical and electronic devices. It involves both production and post-production tasks. The production part may involve everything from set-up to the actual recording.
Sound engineers or audio engineers work on the technical aspects of sound and music production by mixing, reproducing and manipulating the equalization and electronic effects of sound.
By controlling microphones, sound levels, and outputs, sound engineers combine their well-trained ears with their knowledge of acoustics to produce the best quality of sound for a variety of purposes.
HOW TO BECOME A SOUND ENGINEER
To become a successful audio engineer, one should be well trained in any degree or diploma courses in audiography, sound recording, sound engineering and audio engineering.
One who has the background in electrical engineering and fine arts can also pursue a career in this field.Â
However, for Post graduate courses in audio engineering one should have a bachelor's degree with Physics as a subject at Senior Secondary (10+2) level
Note: Generally Certification courses, Graduation and Post Graduation Diploma are offered to students as there are very few colleges offering Degree for the Sound Engineering course.
